Here is a picture of the finished product...I started on this last night at about 8PM and had to make a pattern because the one I had was previously used on a dress for my daughter. I worked on the lining on Wednesday night and had to take it apart a couple of times until it raveled to the point of no return. So I had to really think about what I was going to do to fix this. So I got my creative juices flowing and decided to leave the lining out and make a facing, it worked perfectly...well almost, I went to bed at about 12:45AM with an unfinished dress that was needed for a wedding TONIGHT! When I got up this morning, with a clear mind, I was able to get everything done, except the hem and the shoulder seams, which I completed when I got home from work. Now keep in mind we had zero fittings, I was winging it!
There is nothing more satisfying than getting a text 15 minutes after the dress was picked up that says "It's Perfect :)"
Relief is not the word, I got a little tear in my eye, because this all took place at 6:00 and the wedding is at 7:30! Whoa that is cutting it close, I know, but it was a true success.
I have been sewing since high school, thanks to Sr Rebecca my home ec teacher at Pres. I love to sew for other people, but cannot come to make myself anything. I will post pics of my next project which at this point is a baby blanket
